MAGNANIMOUS GESTURE BY JAPAN TO SRI LANKA

Arai Hiroyuki, a member of Japan’s House of Councilors who also serves on the Committee on Economy and Industry, made a courtesy call at the Ministry of Education yesterday to discuss the donation of ten bicycles to needy Sri Lankan children in outstation areas.

Ten bicycles were provided as a symbolic gesture yesterday, and the remaining 990 will be transported from Japan in the coming week. The distribution of bicycles will be coordinated by the Education Ministry.
