In 22nd May 2009, Counsellor General’s office in Ibaraki prefecture organized a peace ceremony. SLBCJ members and the Sri Lankan business community were also invited by the Counsellor General’s office.
Calling upon blessings for Sri Lanka and the People of Sri Lanka the ceremony started with religious activities conducted by Buddhist priest. Counsellor General of Ibaraki prefecture Mr. Sunil Gamage gave the welcoming speech. H.E Jayantha Palipane the ambassador of Sri Lanka in his speech invited the Sri Lankan Business community in Japan to help Sri Lanka and its government in the rebuilding and development process.
